'Foolpy'

About 3 weeks ago, I was really stressed out with work and decided to reward myself by doing some online shopping.

My original plan was to look for a 2nd hand book by Bernard Cornwell but I got sidetracked and went a little berzerk...

...and in the end, I bought these instead.

One 27"iMac
Two bicycles
Four movies posters
Was going to buy a new TV for the World Cup but decided to cool off the credit card.
(Besides, I have till end May to score myself a sweet deal)

Anyways, the posters have arrived from the States and I picked them up last week from my local news agent/post office.

I love sci-fi, so they are from classic movies and from the new genre of movies.

1. The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951)

2. Tron Legacy (2010)

3. Kick Ass (2010)

4. Star Wars (1977)

How cool are they?

It was foolish but I'm happy

So, I created this F word -'Foolpy'

Oh... and if you're wondering about the book.... no I didn't get it in the end. Might try Savers next week.

iPhone 4g video

This is a video of the alleged new iPhone.

Apple has sent an official letter demanding the device back which may seem like an odd admission by them.

Could get interesting.

Stay tuned.

I want to ride my bicycle... I want to ride my bike....

There is something so special about riding a bicycle.

The wind in your hair, the freedom of being in control,
its faster than walking, and it's cool cause we are reducing
carbon emissions.

So, let me introduce to you my 2 prized possessions.

First up, my purple beauty called Elaine.

I won her from an ebay auction. Never really a big user of ebay
but sometimes, I get lucky and win something.

I knew straight away that was my bike the moment I saw it
and I got the winning bid!

Elaine's very eye candy and recommended for advanced riders.
Got lots of comments and she's definitely a keeper.

This is classic here. I call him, George. He's old school, a little boxy
but still got the looks. Single gear bike which means, it's a bitch
riding up a slope.

Bought him outright and assembled myself.

He aint heavy, he's my George. :)

If you ever are in the area, swing by and we can go for a ride to St Kilda
Beach. I reckon it will be good exercise!

"F" word for the day..? Definitely "Flash!"

iPhone 4g rumour

Don't really know if its true or it's just a publicity stunt. Regardless, there have been reports that a prototype model of the new 4g iPhone is out!

Apparently, this newer model has a front facing video camera, a camera flash and improved regular camera with a larger lens. (Rumour was that the phone comes with a zoom function?) It also uses a micro-SIM card instead of the standard SIM card.

According to online sources, the prototype phone has a slightly smaller screen, a flat back instead of a curved one, slightly heavier due to a larger battery.

If all the media hype is true, then we should see a possible launch in the States in July, with Australia, hopefully by October.

I'm positive the telecom giants here will market it for the 'ultimate Christmas present of 2010'.

This new models looks very savvy and will definitely be a hit if it does come out.

Guess we will just have to wait and see.

Remember 28th January, Apple stocks shot up after the revealing of the iPad but plunged the next day along with the US market.

Perhaps, with the revealing of the new 4g iPhone, Steve Jobs and his Apple shares aim for one last blastoff before he steps down.

the "F" word? "FRESH" off the Press!

Shoes R Us

How many pairs of shoes is considered enough? For me, I think I have about 20 pairs but using only about 15.
But what makes a good pair of shoe? Is it possible for us guys to have ONE all-purpose shoe to suit any occasion?

I doubt it...

Shoes to me, is the final touch to your total outfit. They are subtly conscious yet they can make or break your entire outfit.

So, how many pairs is enough? I reckon, you would need at least 9.

Let me break it down for you.

1. One pair of trainers for the gym
2. One pair of black dress shoe (shiny)
3. Another pair of black smart dress shoe (matt)
4. One pair dark brown leather
5. Another pair of light brown (for khaki pants)
6. A smart casual pair to match your favourite jeans
7. One pair of All Star Converse (I'd recommend Jack Purcells)
8. A pair of loafers to slip on to go to Coles
9. A pair of thongs (Havanas)

These are my personal collections.

Here's some shoes that I think would be nice to add to your collection, if you have the means, of course.

Remember, if you have a A$1000 suit, you should have at least a A$200 pair of shoes that matches the look.

Salon Melbourne 2010

Over the weekend, I attended the Salon Melbourne 2010 held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Great expo with lots of beauty and hairdressing stalls but more importantly, it had 2 of my favourite hairdressers:
Brad Ngata and Tracy Hughes.

These guys really produce quality hairdressing magic and I have been secretly following and admiring their work from a distance.

I believe Brad was the Hair Director for 2010 L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival while Tracy is known of her creative colour work and is one of the top Australian Educators. (I think she's got a couple of new educational DVDs out because someone pass me her pamphlet)

Was on my way out of the Expo and saw them coming back from a smoke. Wanted to introduce myself but didn't have the balls. Fuck!

No worries, next time for sure.

Anyways, here are some of the pictures from yesterday's event.

Enjoy.

I appreciate his artform. Needless to say, the 'F' word is like his theme: 'Fairily'

The Beginning of the F word

Life is full of surprises because you will never know when the next curved ball is going to hit you?

I created this blog because I got laid off last week by Academia International.

No, not because I was lazy or the students hated me.... but the school had to make cuts after Labour's Immigration Minister, Chris Evans decided to change Australia's immigration policies which meant hairdressing would no longer be in the skill shortage in-demands list.

And given the global financial crisis, I had an inkling that it was coming and prepared myself for the chop.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting it till end of 2010 and sometimes, even when you prepare yourself mentally, you are never fully prepared.

So now Mondays and Tuesdays, I aim to use this time to fine tune my writing as I search for an opening into the world of publishing.

Hence, I created this blog called the 'F' word.... and today's edition (you guessed it!) is dedicated to Academia International and to the Immigration Department for making these poorly thought out changes.

'Fair' dinkum mate!
